Materna IPS has successfully won a new customer at its home base in Germany. Allgäu Airport Memmingen is located in Southern Bavaria and serves 50 international destinations.
This year we will be installing 6 Tag.Go and 4 Drop.Go (C) kiosks to provide a 2-step self bag drop process at the airport. By splitting the self bag drop process into two steps, the passenger stream can be separated in favor of shorter waiting times at each of the different touchpoints. In the first step, passengers can use the Materna Tag.Go to simply scan their boarding pass and print their bag tags and then, in the second step, they can check in their bags at our Drop.Go kiosks. In the current pandemic situation, the two-step model is an advantage as it minimizes physical interaction between passengers as well as between passengers and airport staff. Materna will not only implement the self bag drop systems but will be responsible for their maintenance and operation over the following 6 years.
