Andreas Gehling to chair IATA working group TSG CUSS once again

As a member of IATA, IPS plays a significant role in defining the Common Use standards and since 2000 its Intelligent Passenger Solutions division has become a reliable partner for many customers.

Andreas Gehling, who is a member of the project management at IPS a SITA company, has once again been appointed as the chair of the Technical Solution Group CUSS (TSG CUSS). This working group at the International Air Transport Association (IATA) comprises members of IATA airlines and strategic partners of the IATA in the field of common use and passenger experience. In addition to IPS, IATA has a further 280 members which together are responsible for 94% of international flights around the world.

The TSG-CUSS maintains the Common Use Self-Service (CUSS) Recommended Practice 1706c that describes the specifications and standards for multiple airlines sharing one physical self-service kiosk.

The members of the TSG CUSS meet up two to four times a year to discuss the latest developments. The emphasis of the 2018/2019 season is on creating a CUSS TS 2.0 which, above all, focuses on which new technologies there are in addition to Java and CORBA, and on how these can be used for airport processes.
